The XIT Mud Drags were held for two days away from the XIT Rodeo And Reunion grounds in Dalhart, Texas The events drew large and enthusiastic crowds despite the hot weather and blazing sun. The PA system was horrible but I could not get any closer at the time. That's just the breaks I have to deal with when attempting to document live public events with no assistance available.

XIT Antique Tractor Pull

An Antique Tractor Show and Pull were held during the 2019 XIT Rodeo And Reunion on a very hot day! It all started off with a club meeting and then a look at the tractors that came for the show or competition in Dalhart, Texas.
LX Ranch

I offer many thanks to Dave Anderson and Miles Childers for granting me access to the historic LX Ranch for Spring Gathering. My first visit was in 2005 and I was working primarily with still photography but getting used to recording video without the help of a tripod in most circumstances.
The video above was the first to be produced and exercise my primitive editing skills from the series. The LX was still hiring Ted to bring his chuck wagon out to feed the hands for two weeks. The camp moved after the first week and I made my appearance as the second camp was being set up. I wish I could have caught the chuck wagon getting rigged up too.

The Three Star Memorial Roping is an annual roping event that raises money for scholarships in memory of three WTAMU students. Cowboys and cowgirls of all ages compete in Tie-down Roping and Breakaway Roping events organized by age and skill levels. Some of my viewers and friends have been asking me to share more of my own stories as I explore the American Heartlands. I have made a few short stories that are 15 minutes or less and I will try to make more this year.
