The Concho River flows through San Angelo, Texas and the city has done a lot of work installing parks and walkways along the banks of the river but I spent most of my time exploring the section close to the downtown area. There is evidence this section has seen a lot of improvement that goes way back to the beginning of the 1900s and improvements were still ongoing at the time of my visit. Should I get an opportunity to return to the area I may explore other areas as well!

Call it what you will... the world's oldest profession seems to have provided places where men could go to pay and get certain attention and favors from women. It was not at all unusual to find such a place in San Angelo, Texas for there were known to be several located in the downtown area. But there was only one that attracted men with lots to spend for a visit to a high-class Gentleman's Club run by a woman they called Miss Hattie

2022 marked the 145th annual Saint's Roost Celebration in Clarendon, Texas. The celebration is held on the official 4th of July holiday weekend where various community events are held around the Donley County Courthouse Square, downtown, and the COEA Rodeo Arena. The first public activities begin with a Junior Ranch Rodeo on Thursday night.

There is much to say about this incredible museum that houses artifacts and their stories from the very beginnings of human settlement in the Texas Panhandle. There is history from well-known pioneers such as Charles Goodnight and Quanah Parker. Why don't we go on a guided tour of the museum first and then explore an annual celebration of a legacy that began with the JA Ranch?
Charles Goodnight Chuck Wagon Cook-off

This popular annual event is held on the third weekend of September on the Saints' Roost Museum grounds as a fundraiser for the museum in honor of Charles Goodnight and presents some living history education and experience for all who attend the celebration.
