I purchased a 2004 Dodge Dakota pickup and I am still looking for a 6x12 cargo trailer with duel axles and brakes to pull behind the truck. More about that later.
I just started working on Dusty Reins Travel Map. A map showing some of my video locations.
I am still posting unrestricted videos recorded last year and videos specifically for channel members and American Heartlands Channel viewers only.

History
If you have been watching this channel since the beginning then you will recognize the original logo above!
When I first started this channel as the Story Channel, I wanted to be an anonymous documentarian of current stories in the rural areas of the United States. A region west of the Mississippi River between the borders of Canada and Mexico that I have been referring to as the #AmericanHeartlands on various social media platforms. Use the same hashtag search on Facebook and Twitter to see different results on those platforms.
As a former paid Journalist in broadcast and print, I have the desire to document, not report, the things I encounter while exploring rural America. I believe Charles Kuralt had an influence on me but had no desire to appear on camera myself. I wanted the videos to feature the places and the people who live, work and play there tell their own stories.
The channel name was not unique enough to generate brand recognition so it was changed to Dusty Reins Stories because tens of thousands of people have already been exposed to the works of Dusty Reins via photography, video, and CaptiveImage.us
Some of my personal friends and viewers are telling me that need to start sharing my own traveling adventures and stories. I have already been testing out live streaming, shorts, and selfies so I guess I will try for more.
With your help informing me of places to go and things to do in the American Heartlands will look forward to visiting new territories! Contact Us
I will be adding more when I find the time to get this story of my life more organized.
Stay tuned for updates! Current Status

This page is dedicated to my American Heartlands channel on Rumble. All the videos on the channel so far are recent videos I have published on YouTube. I will be publishing exclusive content on Rumble I intend to feature on this page. Here is a short video from a recent road trip about the VLA Observatory where visitors to the facility have been banned since 2020.

Stories Old and New
Beginning in 2000, Dusty began documenting stories of historical interest told by people who had experienced history firsthand. A few of the old videos are being added as time permits. This project was revived again in 2016 with more fresh interviews and better quality videos and we are lining up new subjects. Contact Us if you know of someone in the Texas Panhandle we need to record! We are also recording contemporary events and human interest issues as well as storytellers of all types.
Amarillo Chronicles
A channel dedicated to videos created in and about the Amarillo area. Some of the playlists include videos linked from other YouTube accounts which are relevant to the Amarillo area.

Live Music Performances in the Texas Panhandle - Heritage Preservation
Recording live music performances in the Texas Panhandle is another facet of our Heritage Preservation Project. That projects include information about current and historic Amarillo-based bands and musicians along with links to video performances for each band and musicians we have managed to capture so far on the Live Music in Amarillo, Texas page. We have also documented all but two of the Amarillo Starlight Theater 2017 Season outdoor music concert shows.
PotFarmer
PotFarmer is my latest channel on YouTube. If you like to grow plants in pots you might be a Pot Gardener. If you like to make some extra income doing the same activity to scale, you might be a Pot Farmer. Learn from my knowledge and personal experiences in both roles by watching my How-To videos!
I am just getting started with just a few pots and a few videos, but I am ramping up to have plants native to the Texas Panhandle to give away in Miami, TX by Spring. You may even get to carry on the Willie Renter family heritage Egyptian Walking Onions tradition if they have produced bulbs by then!
Please take note that the
Other Playlists of Interest
Dusty has been having a lot of fun discovering music videos uploaded by many different YouTube contributors. The creation of most of the playlists has been to group musical genres together for personal and public party playback. Other playlists were created for personal interests and for sharing with others. Here is a list of some of the playlists that may be of interest to you along with a brief description. If you are interested in the latest additions and findings, check out New Discoveries playlist.
Note that new videos are continually being added and sometimes changed to a more appropriate playlist. Some of the playlists have hundreds of videos so you may want to use the random play button to enjoy different clips each time you re-visit. Have fun with it!
Live Music Performances
All the playlists ending in "Show" feature recordings of live performances.
The Beat Show - Music with a strong beat, good for high-energy parties!
The Mellow Show - More mellow music from pop to the sublime.
The Roots Show - Music based on the origins of American and other world cultures.
The Baby Boomer Show - Video clips that may not have come from the best quality original sources but may be of interest to the memories of the Baby Boomer generation.
Notable Playlists
Soapberry Grove - High-quality produced video and audio clips featuring a wide range of musical and artistic styles.
The Best of Show - High-quality video and audio of live performances in a wide range of music genres.
Live Music Hall - Featuring full-length music concerts.
Audio File - These videos may not be interesting to watch but a lot of good music here, some of it rare to find.
There are quite a few more playlists but you can find them listed on the YouTube Channel. And be sure to subscribe if you want to keep up as we add more of Dusty's original videos.
