Fort Concho National Historic Site

Fort Concho National Historic Landmark is the best-preserved 1800s military fort I have visited so far. A lot of that has to do with how the city of San Angelo, Texas leased out some of the buildings for commercial, non-profit, and residential uses. The Fort Concho Foundation was established in 1976 to provide an additional level of support for the site, with funds helping to restore the fort, create special programming, attract new exhibits, bring guest speakers, and generally assist with many larger and longer-term projects that the fort’s general operating budget can not accommodate.

This site is a large place and I had to break up my visit into three parts that you can view embedded below. Click on the full-screen symbol in the video player to get the big picture.

Dusty Reins Schedule

You may see several events on the same day. I can only pick one to go next depending on where I was located during the prior event I attended. Fuel is expensive these days!
