And not the kind of rodeo you are used to, this is a pasture rodeo where no events are held in the usual controlled arena (except barrel racing). I found out about the annual Spicer Gripp Memorial Roping in Hereford, Texas from a viewer who said it was a high-quality competition with a mixture of invitational and open events for amateurs and professionals alike. That was a great suggestion and I am providing a few samples here of the action in the arena and on the grounds during the several days of competition held on the first weekend in August.

The Caprock Roundup is an annual July Celebration held in Claude, Texas. The events include Parade and activities with vendors on the courthouse square, a WRCA Youth Ranch Rodeo, Mutton Bustin', and Chicken Chase. My first visit was in 2023 but I documented only the parade and youth rodeo. I returned in 2024 and tried to document all the events I possibly could. I am publishing those videos now.

This rodeo is acclaimed to be the world's oldest and largest all-black rodeo. The town of Okmulgee is located south of Tulsa in eastern Oklahoma. I am just getting started publishing videos every Saturday from two nights of rodeo action. Those videos will also be embedded below after they are published on YouTube and/or the American Heartlands Channel on Rumble.

This rodeo was an open competition including ranch teams in events sanctioned by the WRCA Ranch Rodeo Association (WRCA) but there were unsanctioned events as well. I just published the first sanctioned event and it received a copyright claim on YouTube so I have provided the uncensored version below hosted by Rumble on the American Heartlands Channel
