I documented as much as I could of The 1836 Chuckwagon Races 2022 held on the Diamond B Ranch near Neches, Texas. It was the tenth year of celebrating Texas's revolutionary history with workshops, demonstrations, trail rides, mounted games, mounted shooting, open pasture roping, bronc riding, barrel racing, horse racing, and yes, several classes of chuckwagon races.

Junior Team Roping
I found out about the annual Spicer Gripp Memorial Roping in Hereford, Texas from a viewer who said it was a high-quality competition with a mixture of invitational and open events for amateurs and professionals alike. That was a great suggestion and I am providing a few samples here of the action in the arena and on the grounds during the several days of competition held on the first weekend in August.

This is an annual show in Pawnee, Oklahoma on the first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in May. I found out about this event from some of the steam engine owners at the Major County Threshing Bee 🚜 in Fairview, Oklahoma in 2021, and I was not disappointed in this event as it is the largest in the state!
It had turned out to be a very muddy location after 4 inches of rain but that did not stop the show altogether. I have just started publishing videos here we begin with Saturday morning by firing up the boilers.
Take a look at the steam threshing, gas tractors, gas engines, steam-powered sawmill, shingle mill, antique line shaft machine shop, and blacksmith shop. Come check out the corn mill grinding, farm life and domestic display, flea market, and arts and crafts show.

I have family roots in Big Timber, Montana that date back to the late 1800s. As I was following up on family history, I found out there was a weekly PRCA-sanctioned rodeo series in progress during the week I was in town. It turned out to be a good one with Forrie Smith who plays Lloyd Pierce on the Yellowstone TV series making a guest appearance. It was great to spend some quality time with him!
I am currently publishing videos from one of the weekly rodeos every Saturday which started with a Ranch Bronc Riding competition.
