Bandera, Texas is located northwest of San Antonio and has been named the "Cowboy Capitol of the World" by the Texas Legislature. The small community is a popular tourist destination for its cowboy history and entertainment. I am publishing videos from my short visit and adding a few photos and commentary to this page, so stay tuned for more.

Axis Deer
Axis deer (Axis axis), also known as chital or spotted deer, have been an invasive species of deer in Texas since 1932. They are native to India and Nepal and were brought to Texas as game meat. Axis deer are the most abundant exotic ungulate in Texas, with over 6,000 free-ranging animals and 40,000 on private hunting ranges. They are most commonly found in the central and southern parts of Texas, especially in the Hill Country region and the Edwards Plateau.
