Dusty visited Big Bend Ranch State Park and Big Bend National Park during the first week of May, then returned for the International Chili Championships in Terlingua during November. |

 The space shuttle Discovery was riding piggyback on a specially modified 747 from California to Florida when it made a stop in Amarillo to refuel the 747.

A new website went online today sponsored by the Amarillo Convention and Visitor's Council. The site provides information to anyone who is interested in visiting Amarillo - virtually or in person. The site has a new booking engine for hotels, motels and B&B’s, easy navigation, and bigger pictures. And as any website, the Amarillo CVC website will change over the coming months to offer new ideas and better information to the potential visitor. The images I captured during 2008 show a departure from some of the work I have posted online from previous years. From the very first images of the year at a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans to Mule Deer enjoying a West Texas sunset - 2008 was a year for travel and a greater interest in spending time to explore nature.  |

I have added a way for readers to contact me via Email to the web site. A Contact Dusty Reins button has been added to the top menu that will take you to a page where you can fill out a form and it generates an Email to me. This helps to protect both you and I from spam bots that cruise the Internet looking for published Email addresses. I have also added a panel under the side menu that displays random selections of photos from the Multi-Media Gallery. The Multi-Media Gallery link in the side menu now takes you to a page about some of the gallery contents and shows more menu links to pages where you can see specific groupings of photos selected randomly from the Gallery. Every time you look, expect to see something new! I have added a News link on the top menu. This page will help you keep up to date with what is happening on CaptiveImage.us and some items of note throughout the Golden Spread Region. More new features are in the works!
